Feeding Our Community: A Libby Hill Commitment
Libby Hill Seafood Restaurants, Inc is proud of its continued commitment to the greater community as displayed every year through its volunteer efforts at the Greensboro Urban Ministry Thanksgiving Day Dinner.
This year was a big success with over 4,000 meals being served to those in need. This number is up from 200 when the effort was conceived 21 years ago by Ken Conrad of Libby Hill. 1500 lbs of turkey, 300 lbs of ham, and 52 pies were gobbled up along with all of the traditional sides expected at a Thanksgiving meal.
500 volunteers assisted in the effort which began on Wednesday with cooking and continued early Thursday morning with turkey and pie slicing, potato mashing, and general preparations. Thanks to the organizational efforts of Ken Conrad and the warmth of so many volunteers, many less fortunate people were able to enjoy a delicious holiday meal.
